Edison, NJ – Over 150 enthusiastic residents gathered last night to throw their support as independent Mayoral candidate Dave Tingle and the “People’s Choice 2025” council ticket kicked off their campaign, marking a significant moment in the unfolding Edison municipal elections. The event’s highlight was a powerful endorsement from gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, who urged voters to embrace change in the upcoming election.

The “People’s Choice 2025” slate, presented as a formidable force for new leadership, includes three highly accomplished female council candidates. Gloria Dittman, a familiar face in Edison, brings a wealth of experience, having served as a former Board of Education member, past president of the Edison Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Edison Arts Society.

She is joined by Elizabeth Conway, a lifelong educator and former Board of Education member, whose dedication to the community’s school system is well-known. Rounding out the ticket is Samiksha Sharma, a Senior Data/Business Intelligence Analyst and the founder of SAMAYA. Sharma’s initiatives have a proven track record of increasing participation in cultural and community-building events, while championing women and promoting cultural pride.

Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli delivered a stirring address, emphasizing Tingle’s deep roots and qualifications for leadership. “For 46 years, Dave Tingle has been a resident of Edison, stepping away only to serve our nation,” Ciattarelli stated. “His deep roots here, coupled with his background in law enforcement, make him uniquely qualified to lead the change we desperately need.”

“We are all incredibly grateful to have Jack Ciattarelli’s support,” said Dave Tingle. “His endorsement isn’t just a boost for our campaign; it really highlights the seriousness of our mission to bring real change to Edison. It also demonstrates the broad coalitions we’re building, showing that our message is resonating with a diverse group of voters.”

Ciattarelli’s endorsement wasn’t just about supporting Tingle; it was a broader appeal for a new direction. He expressed dismay over instances where “the American flag was shamefully dismissed as a ‘prop’,” indicating his desire to see a return to what he called foundational values. Ciattarelli emphasized, “From the state level down to your own town, it’s clear: we need new leadership.” He wrapped up his impassioned plea by directly urging the crowd, “If you support change, especially here in Edison, you have to vote for change.”

The robust turnout and Ciattarelli’s endorsement signal a growing momentum for Dave Tingle and the “People’s Choice 2025” ticket, setting the stage for a compelling and closely watched municipal election in Edison.
