Car Fire Causes Backups on NJ Turnpike Near Exit 8

Cranbury, NJ – A Car fire in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near Exit 8 in Cranbury caused severe traffic delays this morning. The incident occurred around 7:00am near exit 8, prompting authorities to close multiple lanes while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

Thick smoke could be seen billowing from the vehicle engulfed in flames. Emergency responders arrived quickly on the scene, but the fire caused significant disruption to traffic flow.

Northbound traffic was backed up for several miles as lanes were closed to allow emergency crews to operate safely. Delays are being reported, with traffic stretching back to several miles.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation. There are no reported injuries at this time
