The Edison Eagles girls tennis team continued their impressive season on Thursday, securing a 3-2 victory at home against Monroe. The win improves Edison’s overall record to an impressive 5-2.
Nandini Chandra set the tone for the Eagles with a flawless performance in first singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Khaliyan Revan followed suit in second singles, dominating her opponent 6-2, 6-1. Lojein Elgebrawi clinched the victory for Edison with a hard-fought 6-4, 6-3 win in third singles.
Despite the overall victory, Edison’s doubles teams faced tough competition. Breana Smithen and Vijeta Garg narrowly lost their first doubles match, while Sanaya Patel and Shivangi Bhuyan also fell in a close second doubles contest.
The Eagles look to carry their momentum into their next match today, as they travel to Old Bridge for a 4 pm showdown.
