Edison Softball Moves to 2-0 With Win Over Perth Amboy

EDISON, NJ – The Edison High School softball team continued their impressive start to the 2025 season, with their second consecutive win, 10-4 over the Perth Amboy on Saturday. The Eagles now a 2-0, showcased a potent offense and solid pitching to beating a resilient Perth Amboy squad (1-2).

Freshman right-hander Jenna Fugate earned the win in the circle for Edison, pitching a complete seven innings. While Perth Amboy managed only six hits and four runs, Fugate held strong, striking out twelve and walking two to keep the Eagles in control.

The Edison offense exploded for 12 hits, consistently putting pressure on Perth Amboy pitching. Leading the charge were several key contributors. Third baseman Cassandra Della Fave had a stellar day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. Pitcher Jenna Fugate helped her own cause, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

The heart of the Edison lineup continued to produce. Rightfielder Juriann Nolasco went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, including a double. Shortstop Kaylin Harkins also had an excellent offensive performance, going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. First baseman Callie DiBisceglie chipped in with a hit, two runs scored, and a walk.

Perth Amboy showed flashes of offensive, with Kiarelys Santiago Soto leading the way going 3-for-4 at the plate and scoring two of the Panthers’ four runs. Edith Luciano Urena and Johanny Almonte also contributed with a hit and an RBI apiece.

However, Perth Amboy struggled to contain the Edison bats. Starting pitcher Izabella Pardo lasted just one inning, allowing one hit and no runs. Jaslyn Collado took the loss for the Panthers, pitching five innings and surrendering 12 hits and 10 runs (one earned) while striking out four and walking one.

This victory marks a strong start to the season for the Edison Eagles, demonstrating their potential on both offense and defense as they look to continue their winning streak in their upcoming games. Edison’s next game is 4/8 at East Brunswick Magnet at 4pm.
