Edison Council Honors Retiring Broadcast Communications Manager

EDISON, N.J. – The Edison Township Council honored Mike D’Amato, the township’s dedicated broadcast communications manager, at their meeting last night, marking his retirement after 20 years of service with Edison TV.

D’Amato, known for his unwavering reliability and commitment to excellence, has been a cornerstone of Edison TV since its inception in June 2004. He transitioned to full-time employment with the township a year later, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for television, video, and theater.

A graduate of Rutgers University–Newark with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and a concentration in television production, D’Amato has actively participated in numerous theater productions throughout his career.

D’Amato’s expertise encompasses all facets of production, from scriptwriting and event planning to editing and post-production. A passionate videographer and talented musician, his work has garnered numerous awards, including the Hometown Video Festival awards in 2001 and 2007.

“Mike’s dedication and creativity have been invaluable to Edison Township,” said Councilman Ajay Patil. “His contributions to our community will be greatly missed, and we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

The Edison Township Council and residents join in expressing their sincere gratitude to Mike D’Amato for his two decades of service and wish him a fulfilling and enjoyable retirement.
