Edison, NJ – The Edison High School girls volleyball team suffered their second loss of the season in a nail-biting match against Mother Seton. Despite a strong start, the Eagles couldn’t maintain their momentum and ultimately fell to the visitors in three sets (26-24, 23-25, 21-25) at home.
The first set saw the Eagles showcase their offensive prowess, securing a narrow 26-24 victory. However, Mother Seton retaliated in the second set, edging out Edison 25-23 in another closely contested battle. The third and deciding set proved to be a heartbreaker for the Eagles, who struggled to find their rhythm and ultimately lost 25-21.
Despite the loss, several Edison players put forth impressive individual performances. Annie Syed orchestrated the offense with 6 digs,19 assists and 13 service points, while Cheyenne Singer had 9 digs and 2 assists. Sachita Balamurugan 4 kills,11 digs and 6 service points, Angelina Lamotte contributed 9 digs and 4 service points and Olivia Wyszogrodzki and Kathlyn Antony had 6 kills apiece.
With the Eagles record now at 6-3 they will look to rebound in their next match Friday at South Plainfield.
