EDISON, NJ – A devastating five-alarm fire ripped through a five-story brick senior living building at 1061 Inman Avenue in Edison, New Jersey, at approximately 6:45pm. Fire apparatus from across the region responded to the scene, encountering heavy smoke and flames upon arrival.
Firefighters battled the blaze, working tirelessly to evacuate residents from the building. Three individuals were successfully rescued, but tragically, one victim remains trapped inside. Emergency medical services, including Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) units, are on scene treating one burn victim.
Command has declared a rescue operation and requested air medical transport for the injured. Engine 4 has been tasked with securing a landing zone for the incoming helicopter. As firefighters begin to gain control of the fire, efforts are underway to extinguish the remaining flames and prevent further spread.
