Middlesex College Appoints JP Grad Iris Delgado and Former BOE Member Shivi Prasad-Madhukar to Board of Trustees

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – The Middlesex County Board of Commissioners has appointed Iris Delgado and Shivi Prasad-Madhukar to the Middlesex College Board of Trustees. The new trustees bring a wealth of experience in political strategy, education, and public policy to the 12-person board. This board plays a crucial role in shaping the college’s direction, overseeing policies, educational offerings, and the allocation of a $608 million annual budget that serves 11,500 full- and part-time students.

Iris Delgado, 36-year-old JP Stevens grad and resident of Metuchen, boasts an impressive track record in political strategy. She has led both the Middlesex County Democratic Organization and the New Jersey State Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee. Delgado earned a dual-bachelor degree in English and feminist, gender, and sexuality studies from Cornell University in 2009.

Shivi Prasad-Madhukar, 52, resides in Edison and offers a unique blend of public policy expertise and educational leadership. She is the moderator of the Edison Residents Facebook group and served two terms on the Edison Board of Education (2016-2022). Currently a member of the Middlesex County Ethics Board, she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from the University of Delhi and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.
