Sayreville Teen Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a news release on Friday, Aug. 30 that 18-year-old Sayreville resident. Daniel Adediran, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 22-year-old Jeremiah Brown. The fatal shooting occurred on Tuesday, August 20th, in Sayreville.

Sayreville police responded to a 911 call reporting the shooting on Swider Drive around 9:49 p.m. on August 20th. Upon arrival, officers found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities determined that Adediran and Brown were acquainted. The shooting was not a random act of violence. Adediran was apprehended on Wednesday, August 28th, and subsequently charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.  

Adediran is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.
