The Middlesex County Division of History and the Arts Institute of Middlesex County are thrilled to announce the grand opening weekend of the 2025 season at East Jersey Old Town Village. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, from 10 am to 4 pm, for a captivating journey into the past.

This free, family-friendly event promises an exciting weekend filled with engaging activities for all ages. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness historical reenactments, observe traditional trades, and participate in delightful children’s crafts. The village will come alive with the sights and sounds of a bygone era, offering a unique and educational experience.

Beyond the village’s historic charm, attendees can also explore the “Hometown Pride Exhibition” at the nearby Cornelius Low House Museum. This fascinating exhibit showcases nearly 100 years of Middlesex County’s rich sports history, featuring memorabilia from local high schools, Middlesex College, and Rutgers University. It’s a must-see for sports enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

No event is complete without delicious food, and East Jersey Old Town Village has you covered. The General Store will feature offerings from The Food Architects, including gourmet sandwiches, salads, house-made ranch chips, and refreshing flavored lemonades. Additionally, food trucks like IL Forno a Legna Pizza and Flirty Desserts will be on-site, providing a variety of tasty options.

To make navigating between the two historic sites even easier, Middlesex County’s RIDE shuttle service will be available. This free, accessible, on-demand transportation service ensures that visitors can seamlessly travel between East Jersey Old Town Village and the Cornelius Low House.
