Two-Car Accident Causes Major Delays on Route 1 Southbound

New Brunswick, NJ – A two-car accident on the Donald Goodkind Bridge is causing significant traffic delays on Route 1 South this morning as New Brunswick Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 7:30am.

Preliminary reports indicate that two vehicles collided on the southbound lanes of the bridge. One of the vehicles involved spun around before coming to a stop against the guardrail.

While no injuries have been reported, the accident has caused major traffic congestion. Traffic is currently backed up on Route 1 South, stretching back into Edison Township.

Police are currently on scene investigating the cause of the accident and working to clear the roadway. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes.
