Edison, NJ – A water main break near Ben Franklin School late Christmas night caused significant disruption to water service for residents and businesses in the surrounding area. Crews have been working tirelessly into the third day to repair the damage and township officials report that water has been restored to most homes.
As work continues as of 7:30 AM to repair the break residents in the immediate vicinity of Ben Franklin School may still be experiencing water outages as repairs continue.
Township officials have assured residents who have had their water restored that they do not anticipate any further interruptions to their service. Facilities for restrooms and showers have ceased operation, however water distribution will continue at the firehouses on Plainfield Ave and Route 27 due to the boil water advisory remaining in place for 24-48 hours.
