The Edison Animal Shelter is proud to announce its walk-in pet microchip clinic. The clinic will be open during the shelter’s regular hours, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven days a week. Pet owners can simply walk in and have their furry friends microchipped for a fee of $30.

The tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is implanted under the skin between the pet’s shoulder blades. Each chip has a unique identification number that is registered to the owner’s contact information. If a lost pet is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, the chip can be scanned, and the owner can be easily located.
