    Middlesex County’s DataCity Command Center Takes Center Stage at 2025 ITSNJ Research Showcase

    PISCATAWAY, NJ – On Tuesday, June 24, Middlesex County proudly hosted the 2025 Intelligent Transportation Society of New Jersey (ITSNJ) Research Showcase, providing attendees with an exclusive look into the County’s cutting-edge smart mobility lab, the DataCity Command Center, located in Piscataway. The annual event convened prominent figures in transportation technology and highlighted groundbreaking research from leading New Jersey universities.

    The showcase drew a diverse audience of transportation leaders and experts, offering a platform to explore the latest advancements in intelligent transportation systems. Participating institutions included Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), and Rowan University, all presenting their innovative research.

    A key highlight of the event was the opportunity for attendees to tour Middlesex County’s DataCity Command Center. This state-of-the-art facility showcased the seamless integration of autonomous and connected vehicle technologies, offering a glimpse into the future of transportation. Visitors were able to engage with interactive demonstrations, providing a firsthand experience of the impactful research and innovations currently underway.

    Further enriching the program, the Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) delivered a compelling presentation led by Dr. Peter Jin and his students. Their insights and findings contributed significantly to the showcase’s exploration of advanced transportation solutions.
