Edison, NJ – The Edison boys soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 loss in overtime to Colonia on Friday, dropping their season record to 2-5. Four of their loses have been by only one goal.
The Eagles found themselves trailing early in the match, but Anthony Cedeno provided a spark in the second half, tying the game at 1-1 with an assist from Emmanuel Kostis. The goal energized Edison, but they were unable to find the go-ahead score in regulation.
In overtime, Colonia’s Noah Bello capitalized on an opportunity to net the game-winner, leaving the Eagles heartbroken.
Despite the loss, Edison goalkeeper George Kostis delivered a strong performance with 13 saves, keeping his team in the game throughout.
The Eagles will look to bounce back from this tough loss and get back on track in their next game on 9/25 at home against JFK Iselin.
