Edison, NJ – The Edison High School baseball team continued its impressive run, extending their winning streak to eight games with a convincing 7-3 victory over Carteret. The Eagles improved to 14-9 on the season, showcasing their readiness for a deep postseason push.
Edison jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the top of the second inning and never looking back. The offense was sparked by a solid performance from Sam Kentos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Anthony Calantoni was 3-for-4 with two runs, while Ray Tavares contributed significantly with a 2-for-3 outing and a run scored.
On the mound, Tavares earned the win, effectively navigating the Carteret lineup giving up one earned run over 5 2/3 innings. Dominick Innocente closed out the game with a dominant relief appearance, pitching one inning and striking out three.
The Eagles, red hot with their eight consecutive wins, will look to keep their momentum going as they travel to Somerville today for a 4 PM matchup. Their sights are firmly set on Saturday’s GMC Finals, where they will face off against St. Joe’s at East Brunswick Magnet School.
