Edison, NJ – The Edison Fire Department responded swiftly to a challenging house fire on Hill Road yesterday afternoon.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM, members of C Shift from Engines 2, 4, and 6, along with Truck 1 and Car 8, were dispatched to 31 Hill Rd following reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames engulfing a two-story residential home.

Recognizing the intensity of the blaze, a second alarm was immediately sounded, bringing additional resources to the scene, including Engines 1 and 9, Truck 2, Rescue 5, and Car 7.

Fire crews worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring structures. The fire was eventually brought under control, but not before causing extensive damage to the home.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. There were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters.

The Edison Fire Department reminds residents to ensure they have working smoke detectors and to practice fire escape plans regularly.
