The Edison Firefighters Association is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Retired Firefighter Raymond Tibok, a dedicated member of the department for three decades. Ray, 58, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service, mentorship, and love for his family and community.

Born and raised in Edison, Ray was a true local, graduating from J. P. Stevens High School in 1984. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the Edison Fire Department, retiring in 2022. Ray was known not only for his unwavering commitment to his duties but also for his role as a mentor and craftsman, always willing to share his knowledge and lend a helping hand.

Outside of his firefighting career, Ray had a passion for fishing, working on cars, and playing southern rock on his guitar. He was a devoted husband to his wife Rosemarie, a loving father to his sons Ryan, Jonathan, and Evan, and a proud grandfather to Madelyn Rose.

Ray’s passing leaves a void in the Edison Fire Department and the community he served. He will be remembered for his dedication, his craftsmanship, and his warm spirit.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, with a catholic prayer service at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charity honoring the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001.
