Edison Will Host The John Spiess Memorial Game Against JP Stevens On 12/19
The Edison High School girls basketball team put on a dominant performance at home, defeating Iselin Kennedy 42-23. The Eagles showcased impressive teamwork and depth, with all 10 players contributing to the scoreboard.
Senior Olivia Smart led the charge with a double-double, racking up 17 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Susan Oshinski also had a strong showing, adding 8 points for the Eagles. The team’s balanced attack and stifling defense proved too much for Kennedy, allowing Edison to control the game from start to finish.
This win serves as excellent preparation for the Eagles’ upcoming challenge: the John Spiess Memorial game against JP Stevens tonight. This annual event honors the memory of John Spiess, a beloved Edison Township Recreation Supervisor and father of Edison JV Coach Keri Spiess, all proceeds from the game are donated to Relay for Life that raises money for the American Cancer Society.
With the momentum from their recent victory and the added motivation of playing for a good cause, the Edison girls are poised for another strong performance against cross town rival JP Stevens. Tip-off is tonight at home at 5:30pm. The team is hoping for a big crowd to support both the Eagles and this important community event.
