    Edison Girls Tennis Nets Historic Victory Over JP Stevens

    The Edison High School girls’ tennis team etched their names in the school’s history books with a resounding victory over the JP Stevens Hawks, securing their first-ever win against their rivals. The 4-1 triumph not only marks a significant milestone for the Eagles but also showcases their remarkable improvement and determination on the court.

    Led by their dominant singles players, Nandini Chandra, Khaliyah Revan, and Lojein Elgebrawi, Edison swiftly took control of the match, securing straight-set victories in all three singles positions. Chandra’s 6-4, 6-4 win at first singles set the tone for the Eagles, followed by Revan’s commanding 6-1, 6-0 performance at second singles. Elgebrawi capped off the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the third singles position.

    While JP Stevens managed to secure a win at first doubles with Sophie Sun and Neha Shinil prevailing over Edison’s Breanna Smithen and Vijeta Garg, the Eagles’ second doubles pairing of Sanaya Patel and Shivangi Bhuyan clinched the historic victory for Edison with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

    This landmark achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Edison High girls’ tennis team, their coaches, and the unwavering support of their school community. The Eagles’ victory over JP Stevens serves as a powerful reminder that with perseverance and teamwork, even the most formidable challenges can be overcome. As the season progresses, the Edison High girls’ tennis team will undoubtedly continue to soar to new heights, leaving an indelible mark on their school’s athletic legacy.

    • 1st Doubles: Sophie Sun/Neha Shinil (JPS) def. Breanna Smithen/Vijeta Garg (E) 6-4, 6-1
