Edison, NJ – The Edison High School softball team continued their impressive start to the season, extending their winning streak to 4-0 with a win over Iselin Kennedy. Leading the charge was Jenna Fugate, who had an unforgettable day both at the plate and on the mound.
Freshman Jenna Fugate significantly impacted the game both at the plate and on the mound for Edison. Offensively, she was perfect, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs, two tuns scored and a home run that sparked the team and the crowd. Fugate also controlled the game from the mound. Over five innings, she demonstrated impressive control, recording 11 strikeouts and consistently keeping opposing hitters off balance and struggling to make solid contact.
Supporting Fugate’s outstanding performance were key contributions from other Eagles players. Kaylin Kline had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 and driving in two runs. Olivia Short also proved to be a consistent offensive threat, going a 3-for-3 and adding two RBIs to Edison’s tally.
The collective effort of the team, spearheaded by Fugate’s exceptional all-around performance, secured another decisive win for the Eagles. This victory further solidifies their strong start to the season and demonstrates their potential as a formidable force in the league.
Looking ahead, the Edison Eagles will face Middlesex in their next contest. This game holds extra significance as it will be part of the Autism Awareness Challenge on April 11th.
