The JP Stevens boys soccer team continued their strong start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Edison on Saturday, improving their record to a perfect 2-0. Edison, on the other hand, fell to 0-3 after the loss.

The Hawks came out of the gates firing, with Ishaan Manu finding the back of the net just 3:38 into the first half on an assist from Abhishek Narkhede giving JP Stevens an early lead. Edison didn’t back down, however, and responded with a goal of their own at the 34:23 mark, courtesy of Kevin Robledo on an assist from Christaian Nizama. The first half ended with the score knotted at 1-1, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

Both teams battled fiercely in the second half, with neither side able to break the deadlock for much of the period. As the clock ticked down, it seemed the game was destined for overtime. But with just 59 seconds remaining, Jash Shah emerged as the hero for JP Stevens, scoring the game-winning goal on an assist from Nathan Sekar to send the Hawks’ bench and fans into a frenzy.

The victory was a testament to the resilience and determination of the JP Stevens squad, who showed they can compete with and beat tough opponents. With their undefeated record intact, the Hawks will look to carry their momentum into their next game and continue their impressive start to the season.
