Edison, NJ – Two Edison Township men have been apprehended and face multiple charges following the culmination of a months-long narcotics investigation, the Edison Police Department announced today.

Tyir Pugh, 42, and Deshaun Stephens, 18, both of Edison, were arrested and charged with a slew of offenses, including possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) with the intent to distribute, multiple counts of possession of CDS, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a ghost gun, possession of high-capacity magazines, and possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense, according to police. Additionally, Pugh was charged with being a certain person not to possess a firearm.

The arrests followed the execution of a Superior Court-authorized search warrant on Tuesday, April 1st, at a residence located in the southern end of the township. The operation was carried out by members of the Edison Police Department’s Vice & Narcotics Unit, who were assisted by the department’s SWAT Team and Criminal Investigations Bureau, stated Police Chief Thomas Bryan according to the mycentraljersey.com.

During the search of the residence, detectives recovered a significant quantity of various suspected narcotics. These included cocaine, ecstasy, oxycodone, suboxone, and marijuana. Authorities also seized a 9mm ghost gun, along with ammunition and several high-capacity magazines.

The Edison Police Department is urging anyone who may possess further information related to this investigation to come forward. Detective Richard Lorfing of the department’s Vice & Narcotics Unit can be contacted directly at 732-248-7529.
