Water Main Update 9: Day Four, Work Continues

Four days have now passed since the water main break and the situation in the Ben Franklin neighborhood remains unclear. While work continues residents are still without running water as of 7:30 this morning, and their patience is wearing thin. The lack of any clear communication about when service will be restored only adds to the growing frustration. People are beginning to wonder how much longer they can cope with this unexpected and disruptive crisis.

Councilman Ajay Patil voiced is frustration with Mayor Joshi and his handling of the crisis stating “We are in Day 4 of the water main breakdown and thank you to the crew on the ground working under pressure to complete the repairs. Though most South Edison residents have water, some still have little to no water. Unfortunately, the Mayor controls the communication and is unwilling to delegate it to the experts. Mayor Joshi did not learn from his failure to communicate effectively and expects people to look at his Facebook page for updates. Every South Edison resident will always remember this water disaster.”

This is a developing story as some residents are now in their fourth day without water. Stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available. Mayor Joshi and Chief of Staff Bob Diehl did not respond to request for comment.
