Anchors at Smith’s Creek Opens On Woodbridge Waterfront

By The Edison Reporter Staff on July 20, 2024 Middlesex Co.

A new waterfront oasis has emerged in Woodbridge, as the Anchors tiki bar recently opened its doors at 616 Cliff Road in the Sewaren section. Nestled beside the 77-slip municipal marina, this 200-seat venue offers a vibrant atmosphere and promises to be a must-try destination for locals and visitors alike.

Anchors is already making waves with live music performances on weekends, setting the stage for a lively summer. A grand opening celebration is planned for the end of the month, marking the completion of the project and the official launch of this exciting new venture.

The tiki bar is expected to operate on the following schedule:

    • Mondays to Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Fridays: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
    • Saturdays: Noon to 11 p.m.
    • Sundays: Noon to 10 p.m.

Managed by the Woodbridge Arts Alliance , the organization behind Curtains Bar and Restaurant, Barbells Cafe, and the Avenel Performing Arts Center, Anchors tiki bar is poised to become a cultural hub in the community.

The township owns the land and structure, but the bar staff are not township employees. Anchors offers a unique beverage experience, serving drinks exclusively in cans with limited alcohol content. To complement the drinks, the bar plans to host a rotation of food trucks offering a diverse array of culinary delights, from tacos and pizza to grilled cheese and seafood. This ensures that there will always be delicious food options available to pair with your favorite beverage

With its prime waterfront location, lively atmosphere, and exciting plans for the future, Anchors tiki bar is set to become a beloved gathering place in the Woodbridge area. Whether you’re looking for a weekend escape, a place to enjoy live music, or a unique culinary experience, Anchors has something for everyone. So set sail for Sewaren and discover this new waterfront gem!
