Edison, NJ – Junior Connor Murphy delivered a pitching clinic for Edison High School baseball on Tuesday, tossing a complete game no-hitter leading the Eagles to an 11-0 victory over South Brunswick. The senior right-hander was untouchable, striking out 11 Vikings across five innings, walking just two, and remarkably needing only 61 pitches to seal the win.
While Murphy held South Brunswick’s offense captive, the Edison bats exploded. Junior Dom Innocente stole the offensive spotlight with a perfect day at the plate. Innocente went two-for-two, crossing the plate three times and driving in four runs, courtesy of two home runs, while also being hit by a pitch. Junior Rob Roma contributed a solid two-for-three performance with an RBI.
Murphy himself chipped in offensively, going one-for-two with an RBI, highlighting the Eagles’ all-around dominance in the game.
This big Red Division win lifts Edison’s season record to 5-6, providing a significant boost of momentum as they prepare for their next game against East Brunswick on Wednesday, April 24th.
The dominant pitching of Connor Murphy coupled with the explosive offensive output, particularly from Dom Innocente, will undoubtedly give the Eagles a surge of confidence as they continue their season. South Brunswick will be left to regroup after facing such a formidable Edison squad.
