EDISON, NJ – Residents looking forward to fresh, local produce will have to find alternative sources this year, as Edison Township has announced the cancellation of its annual farmers’ market for the 2025 season. The township cited a lack of participation as the reason for the closure.
The farmers’ market was slated to run from June to October at Swales Park, located at 64 Park Way. Typically, the market would open to the public every Thursday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, offering a convenient mid-week option for residents to purchase goods directly from local farmers and vendors.
The cancellation marks a disappointment for many who valued the market a source of fresh, locally sourced products. The township has not yet released any information regarding potential plans for the farmers’ market in future seasons.
