Edison, NJ – Get ready for a vibrant summer of reading and fun as the Edison Public Library announces its 2025 Summer Reading Program (SRP), “Color Our World”! Open to all ages, from avid readers to those who love being read to, the program runs from June 29 through August 31 and promises a spectrum of incentives, special events, and exciting prizes across all Library locations.

“We’re thrilled to invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable summer of reading and fun at the library,” said Edison’s Youth Librarian Allia Nisa.

The festivities kick off on Saturday, June 28, with a bang! Join the Edison Public Library for music, crafts, and a sweet treat at one of three locations: the Main Library at 10:00 a.m., the North Edison temporary location at noon, or the Clara Barton Branch at 1:00 p.m. Each location will feature a special performance by Jim Gaven, followed by a rainbow of activity stations offering colorful fun for everyone, and a visit from the ice cream truck!

Starting June 28, patrons of all ages can begin logging their reading through Beanstack for a chance to win fantastic prizes. The more you read and achieve those reading milestones, the more opportunities you’ll have to win! Prizes include a Kindle for adults, Pokémon card bundles for children, a one-year subscription to Spotify for teens, and a kids play set for early learners, just to name a few.

The SRP also includes a weekly activity component. Simply check in with staff at any library branch, including the Bookmobile, to win a small prize such as Edison Public Library tchotchkes, Summer Reading Program-themed items, or a coupon for a free book. To participate and win, you’ll need a Beanstack account and enrollment in the appropriate age-specific Summer Reading Challenge.

Beyond the reading challenges, the Edison Public Library’s SRP offers a diverse lineup of drop-in events for children, teens, and adults throughout July and August at all three branches. Family favorites making a return include Rizzo’s Wildlife, Howling Woods Farm, Lee’s Circus Extravaganza, Eskies Dog Show, and Murphy’s Muppets. For adults, engaging programs like “Elvistory” (an Elvis history talk) and “ExhibitSmith” are scheduled. Teens can look forward to jewelry making, Talewise programs, and more!

“Every branch is offering exciting activities and events, from concerts to crafts to magicians. There is something for all ages and interests,” said Nisa. “Don’t miss out on a summer of fun at the Edison Public Library.”

Ready to “Color Our World” with reading? Sign up for a free Beanstack account by clicking here; to see all the programs and events taking place this summer, stop by your local branch or head over to the Edison Public Library’s website and click on the “Events” tab. We can’t wait to see you there for a summer filled with books, laughter, and colorful adventures!
