The JP Stevens Hawks girls soccer team secured an impressive 6-2 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in the Soccer for a Cause festival improving their season record to 7-4.

Sophia Chessere and Jaslyn Chen led the offensive charge, each contributing two goals and two assists. Neha Thota added two goals and an assist, while Naisha Patel provided an assist. Goalkeeper Shreya Singh Thing made six crucial saves to help secure the win.

The Hawks now look forward to their next match against Metuchen on October 1st.

    Soccer for a Cause Tournament

The Soccer for a Cause festival is a charitable event that brings together 22 girls’ soccer teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference to raise money for pediatric cancer patients and other children in need. The tournament benefits The Marisa Tufaro Foundation and Go4theGoal.

In addition to raising money, the participating teams also collect non-perishable food items for REPLENISH, a regional food bank serving Middlesex County residents. The top fundraising teams for each charity will be recognized during an awards presentation on the day of the festival.

The JP Stevens Hawks are proud to be a part of this worthy cause and look forward to continuing their successful season on and off the field.
