    Metuchen-Edison Historical Society Hosts Piscatawaytown History Day on June 23rd

    The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society invites the public to explore the rich history of Piscatawaytown on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This free event will offer a glimpse into the past through guided walking tours, historical exhibits, and presentations.

    Walking Tours

    Participants will have the opportunity to embark on a walking tour of the Piscatawaytown neighborhood, immersing themselves in the stories and architecture that define this historic area. The tour will include visits to St. James Church and the Piscatawaytown Burying Ground, where the final resting places of early settlers and prominent figures can be found.

    Exhibits and Presentations

    In addition to the walking tours, attendees can enjoy historical exhibits and presentations at the Edison First Aid Squad #1, located at 33 Lakeview Avenue in Edison, New Jersey. These displays will showcase artifacts, photographs, and documents that shed light on the lives and experiences of Piscatawaytown residents throughout history.
