Young Artists Shine at Edison Municipal Building in Annual Youth Art Month Exhibit

The Edison Municipal Building is abuzz with creativity this month as the Edison Arts Society and the Edison Visual Arts Teachers team up for the annual Youth Art Month Gallery Exhibition. This vibrant showcase highlights the artistic talents of Edison’s students, offering a glimpse into their unique perspectives and imaginative approaches.

The exhibition will open Monday March 4th at 6:30 pm at the Edison Arts Society Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Municipal Building. The exhibition, a cornerstone of Youth Art Month will be on exhibit throughout the month of March. It celebrates the vital role that visual arts education plays in a child’s development. It fosters creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and self-expression, all while nurturing a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

President of the Edison Arts Society Liz Hahn said “I just want to thank the visual arts teachers, Alison Paolello from JP Stevens, Melissa Molnar from Woodrow Wilson and Visual and Performing Arts supervisor Tom White for going above and beyond to give the students this opportunity to display their work” she continued “In our increasingly diverse world, the arts has the unique ability to bring people together regardless of their backgrounds and that is what our teachers do everyday.”

Visitors to the Municipal Buildings 2nd and 3rd will be treated to a diverse array of artworks created by students of all ages. From colorful paintings and intricate drawings to thought-provoking mixed media pieces, the exhibition promises a journey through the minds and hearts of Edison’s next generation of artists.

This collaborative effort between the Edison Arts Society and the township’s visual arts teachers underscores the community’s commitment to fostering a vibrant arts scene. By providing a platform for young artists to showcase their work, the exhibition not only celebrates their achievements but also inspires them to continue exploring their artistic potential.
