Edison, NJ – A tractor trailer fire on the New Jersey Turnpike southbound near Exit 10 has caused significant traffic delays and hazardous conditions for commuters this morning. The incident occurred around 8:45 AM just north of the exit, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.

Thick smoke billowed from the burning vehicle, creating a haze over the Clara Barton section of Edison. Visibility was significantly reduced, and motorists were advised to exercise extreme caution or avoid the area if possible.

As firefighters worked to contain the blaze, traffic on the southbound lanes of the Turnpike backed up for miles. Delays are expected to continue throughout the morning rush hour as authorities work to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the fire.

No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
