EDISON, NJ – A two-car accident occurred at approximately 5:45 pm today at the intersection of Route 27 and Suttons Lane, a junction that has garnered an unfortunate reputation as one of the most dangerous in town.
Police and tow services are currently on scene, where they are working to clear the wreckage and direct traffic. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
This incident is the latest in a string of collisions at this intersection where residents have called for increased safety measures. The intersection, which currently has a standard traffic light, has been the site of numerous fender-benders and several more serious accidents in recent months.
“It’s a nightmare waiting to happen,” stated one resident who lives near the intersection. “Cars speed down Route 27, and it’s hard to see oncoming traffic when you’re trying to turn onto Suttons Lane. Something needs to be done before someone gets seriously hurt.”
