EDISON, NJ – The Edison Public Library on Plainfield Avenue will be closed for approximately one month, starting Monday, January 13th, through Sunday, February 9th, to facilitate the second phase of asbestos removal.
During this closure, the library’s book drop will also be unavailable. Patrons are encouraged to return materials to the North Edison Branch at 777 Grove Ave., the Clara Barton Branch at 141 Hoover Ave., or the bookmobiles, which will be operating on their regular schedules and hours.
To accommodate the needs of library users while the main branch is closed, both the North Edison and Clara Barton branches have extended their operating hours. They will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The North Edison Branch will also be open on Sundays, January 19th, January 26th, February 2nd, and February 9th, from noon to 5:00 PM.
Even though the main library building is closed, patrons can still access library services in a variety of ways. The bookmobiles will be making their regular stops throughout January (check the library’s schedule for details). The Edison Public Library’s online resources, including ebooks, audiobooks, and databases, remain accessible 24/7. Additionally, Edison residents are welcome to visit neighboring libraries in Highland Park, Metuchen, Piscataway, and South Plainfield.
The Edison Public Library appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this temporary closure.
