Highland Park, NJ – Cedar Lane at River Road is currently the site of a significant traffic disruption after a motor vehicle accident took out the traffic light at the intersection. Emergency responders, including police and fire personnel, are on the scene, and while there don’t appear to be any serious injuries, the damage to the traffic infrastructure is causing significant delays.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area of Cedar Lane if possible. The intersection is expected to be closed for an extended period as crews work to clear the wreckage and assess the damage to the traffic light. It is unclear at this time when the road will be fully reopened.

Local authorities are urging drivers to be patient and to follow the instructions of emergency personnel on the scene. It is important to allow crews to do their work safely and efficiently so that the road can be reopened as quickly as possible.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and to allow extra time for their travels.
