Edison, NJ – An Edison man is facing serious accusations after being charged with sexual assault for the second time in just six months. Faton Boqolli, 31, allegedly used Facebook to connect with both women before assaulting them, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The most recent incident came to light on January 10th when a woman reported to the Edison Police that she had been sexually assaulted by Boqolli. Detective Clint Hetzell led the investigation, which resulted in Boqolli being charged with sexual assault and criminal sexual contact.
This arrest is eerily similar to a previous case from August 2024. In that instance, Boqolli was accused of meeting a woman on Facebook and then sexually assaulting her during their first in-person encounter. He was charged on August 6th with sexual assault, criminal restraint, and criminal sexual contact following an investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edison Police Department.
Boqolli is currently in custody at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick as he awaits a pre-trial detention hearing.
Law enforcement officials are concerned that there may be other victims who have not yet come forward. They are urging anyone with information about Boqolli to contact Detective Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit at 732-745-3652, or Detective Hetzell at 732-248-7400.
