Salazar’s release marks a significant milestone in his recovery, though he still faces a long road ahead with rehabilitation. The outpouring of support from the law enforcement community has been immense, with officers lining up outside the hospital to greet him as he departed.

NJ State PBA President Peter Andreyev expressed his gratitude for the medical staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for their exceptional care of Detective Salazar. He also urged the public to keep the officer in their thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery.

“It is great to see Detective Salazar get out of the hospital. I want to thank all the doctors and nurses at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for their excellent care. Please keep Detective Salazar in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery,” said Andreyev.

The incident, which occurred during a police operation in Rahway, resulted in multiple individuals being shot. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, with authorities working to determine the sequence of events and those responsible.

The shooting of Detective Salazar serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty. It has also highlighted the unwavering support and camaraderie within the police community, as officers rally around their wounded colleague.
