Iselin Jewelers Hit in “Smash and Grab” Robbery; Police on Scene

Iselin, NJ – Virani Jewelers, located at 24 Marconi Avenue in Iselin, was the scene of a daring “smash and grab” robbery this afternoon, Saturday , June 7, 2025. Multiple men reportedly entered the establishment and proceeded to smash display cases, making off with an unknown quantity of jewelry.

Woodbridge Police are currently on scene, investigating the incident. Details remain scarce as authorities work to secure the area and gather information. The extent of the losses and descriptions of the suspects have not yet been released.

This incident is not the first time Virani Jewelers in Iselin has been targeted. In June 2022, a similar armed robbery occurred at their Oak Tree Road location, where masked individuals stormed the store, forcing employees to the ground and stealing an estimated $1 million in gold jewelry. Federal prosecutors later linked this 2022 robbery to a larger D.C.-based crime ring that targeted Asian American-owned jewelry stores along the East Coast.

It is currently unclear if today’s robbery is connected to any prior incidents or if it was an isolated event. Police have not yet commented on whether any employees or customers were injured during the latest heist.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as further information becomes available from the Woodbridge Police Department. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Woodbridge Police.
