Today, September 1st, the vibrant Pakistani community in New Jersey is coming together to celebrate their heritage and culture at the annual Pakistan Day Parade. The parade promises a day full of fun, festivities, and a showcase of Pakistani traditions.

The day kicks off with a lively pre-parade program on Middlesex Avenue, Oak Tree Road, Iselin, NJ. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, attendees can enjoy music, dances, food stalls, and inspiring speeches. A highlight of the morning is the free Halwa Puri (traditional Pakistani breakfast) served from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

The official part of the day begins at 1:00 pm with a press conference, flag hoisting ceremony, and speeches from dignitaries. The much-awaited parade commences at 2:00 pm, starting its journey from Woodbridge. By 3:30 pm, the procession will reach Edison, culminating at the Wood Avenue Mela location. (99 Wood Ave Edison NJ, 08820).

The festivities continue into the evening with a captivating cultural and musical program in Edison, running from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

The parade is free to watch, but there are opportunities to participate and showcase your enthusiasm!

For those eager to join the car rally, early bird registration was available until August 14th at $350 per car. Today, on the day of the event, registration is $450, subject to availability. To secure your spot, make checks payable to ‘Pakistan Day Parade of NJ’ and mail them to 106 James St., Edison, NJ, 08820. You can also reach out via phone at 732-808-3356 or email info@pakparadenj.org. Remember, all vehicles must be pre-decorated. Let your creativity shine with flags, wraps, paints, and stickers! Vehicles without decorations or with inappropriate displays won’t be allowed in the parade.
