Milltown, NJ – This year, Milltown proved that small towns can host big celebrations with its 4th of July festivities. The day-long event, which has grown into one of New Jersey’s largest Independence Day celebrations, kicked off bright and early at 6:00 a.m. with a fishing derby, setting the tone for a day filled with family fun and community spirit.

Following the fishing derby, runners of all ages laced up their shoes for a fun run and a 5K, adding a touch of athleticism to the day’s events. The excitement continued to build as the official parade kickoff commenced at 10:00 a.m., featuring colorful floats, marching bands, and enthusiastic participants.

Families flocked to Gloria Bradford Park, where they enjoyed a variety of activities and entertainment. A beer garden provided a refreshing oasis for adults, while children delighted in the annual duck race at the Main Street Bridge. The day’s events also included a pizza-eating contest, a patriotic house and bike decorating contest, and live music performances, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The festivities concluded with a stunning fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., illuminating the night sky and leaving spectators in awe. Adding a special touch to the occasion, former Mayor Trina Jensen Meher served as the grand marshal, a fitting tribute to her dedication to the Milltown community.
