REPLENISH Delivers Holiday Hope: Distributes Thousands of Hams and Chickens for Passover and Easter

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Just in time for the Passover and Easter holidays, REPLENISH, Middlesex County’s vital food distribution organization, has brought a wave of relief to local families facing food insecurity. On Monday, April 14th, the organization successfully distributed an impressive 960 hams and 2,160 chickens to nearly 70 of its dedicated pantry partners across the county.

This significant contribution will directly benefit residents who might otherwise struggle to afford festive meals during these important religious observances. The generous donations were made possible through the ongoing fundraising efforts of Feeding Middlesex County, highlighting the community’s commitment to supporting its neighbors in need.

The spirit of collaboration and community support was palpable during the distribution event. Middlesex County Deputy Director Shanti Narra and Commissioner Charles E. Tomaro were present to lend a hand, working alongside the REPLENISH team and a group of enthusiastic students from Saint Joseph High School. Their presence underscored the collective effort involved in addressing food insecurity within the county.

REPLENISH plays a crucial role in ensuring that individuals and families throughout Middlesex County have access to nutritious food. This latest distribution of holiday staples is a testament to their ongoing dedication and the vital network of partnerships they have cultivated with local food pantries.

HOW YOU CAN HELP REPLENISH CONTINUE ITS Mission:

REPLENISH works tirelessly year-round to keep its shelves stocked and meet the needs of the community. There are several ways individuals can contribute to their vital mission:

    • Non-Perishable Food and Basic Supplies: Donations of non-perishable food items and basic necessities are gratefully accepted at the REPLENISH Distribution Center (28 Kennedy Boulevard, around the back of the building) Monday through Friday from 6 am to noon.
    • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions allow REPLENISH to purchase essential items and support its operations. Checks can be made payable to “Feeding Middlesex County” and mailed to PO Box 781, Edison, NJ 08818. Online donations can also be made conveniently through the Feeding Middlesex County website at www.feedingmiddlesexcounty.org.
    • Permanent Collection Sites: For ongoing support, individuals can drop off non-perishable items at permanent collection bins located at libraries in the following Middlesex County towns: East Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, Monroe, North Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Piscataway, Plainsboro, South Amboy, South Brunswick, South Plainfield, Spotswood, and Woodbridge.

The recent distribution of hams and chickens serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that community support can have on the lives of those facing food insecurity. By continuing to donate and support REPLENISH, residents of Middlesex County can help ensure that everyone has access to the nourishment they need, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.
