    The Metuchen Edison Historical Society invites you to its Piscatawaytown History Day! This exciting event will take place on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Swales Park, located at the rear of St. James Episcopal Church in Piscatawaytown.

    Admission is free!

    Come explore the rich history of Piscatawaytown through engaging displays, fascinating historical artifacts, and unique Society merchandise.

    Here’s what awaits you:

    • 1:30 PM: Embark on a guided tour of the historic Piscatawaytown Burying Ground. Discover the final resting places of notable figures, including the Hooper Brothers grave, and learn about the African Burial Ground and the Commons.
    • Self-guided walking tours: Explore the neighborhood at your own pace and uncover hidden historical gems.
    • Free cider and apples: Enjoy delicious refreshments courtesy of the Forman Martin Cider mill, generously sponsored by the Edison Historic Society.
    • Door prizes: You might just win a special piece of local history!
