Edison, NJ – Lifelong Edison resident and Junior at Edison High School, Katelyn Hahn, is competing for Miss Teen New Jersey. She’s up for the People’s Choice Award. If she gets the most votes, she goes straight to the semi-finals. You can help this extraordinary 16-year-old secure an spot in the semi-finals of Miss Teen New Jersey and give her the platform she needs to share a story that truly matters.

Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, Katelyn has always been proud of where she comes from. She attended St. Bartholomew’s Catholic School in East Brunswick, NJ from the age of 3 through 8th grade, where she built a strong foundation in values, leadership, and faith. She then transitioned to public school. She currently attends Edison High School in Edison, NJ where she continues to grow both academically and personally, embracing every challenge with confidence and grace.

Now a Junior at Edison High School, Katelyn is on track to graduate at just 17 with both her high school diploma and an associate’s degree in liberal arts – Business, thanks to her dedication and commitment as a dual enrollment student with Middlesex County College.

She’s a former varsity basketball player turned passionate golfer, who placed 18th in the county in just her first season. Her competitive drive is matched only by her warmth, her compassion, and her one-of-a-kind sense of humor.

But more than anything, Katelyn has always stayed true to herself. In a world full of pressure to fit in, she chooses to stand out as herself. She hopes to inspire others to do the same. Her message is clear and powerful:

“You are one of one. Completely unrepeatable, and that’s your greatest power.” She wants every young person to embrace all of who they are, to love their uniqueness, and to know that just being yourself is your greatest power.

Katelyn is also using this opportunity to bring awareness to a cause that’s close to her heart: the mental health and drug crisis affecting communities everywhere. In 2021, she experienced the heart breaking loss of her uncle, Tom Kenney, who was more like a big brother. He died from fentanyl poisoning. That loss has fueled her passion to be a voice for others, to spark meaningful conversations, and to bring light to those navigating grief, addiction, or mental health struggles.

This pageant isn’t just about a crown, it’s about purpose, passion, and impact. And with your support, Katelyn can carry that message even further. You can cast your vote for Katie in the Miss Teen NJ People’s Choice Contest by clicking the link below.
