    Metuchen Bulldogs Unleash In First-Quarter Over South River

    The Metuchen Bulldogs football team showcased their offensive firepower in a stunning first-quarter performance, routing South River 42-0 to improve their season record to 2-0.

    The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Quarterback Ryan Toth connected with Cam Hayes Durina for a 52-yard touchdown pass on their opening drive. Austin Loreti’s successful point-after kick made it 7-0.

    The Bulldogs’ ground game quickly joined the action, as Evan Toth punched in a 12-yard touchdown run. Loreti’s extra point extended the lead to 14-0.

    Metuchen’s air attack struck again before the end of the first quarter, with Ryan Toth finding Justus Leitner for a 10-yard touchdown pass. Loreti’s kick was good, and the Bulldogs closed out the first quarter with a commanding 21-0 lead.

    The second quarter saw the Bulldogs continue their offensive onslaught. Matt Jelleme broke free for a 47-yard touchdown run, and Loreti’s kick made it 28-0.

    Evan Toth found the endzone again, this time with a 19-yard touchdown run. Jason Woods added the extra point, pushing the score to 35-0.

    The Bulldogs capped off their dominant performance with another Ryan Toth touchdown pass, this one a 22-yard strike to Dennis Toth. Wood’s kick sealed the 42-0 victory.

    Metuchen’s explosive first-quarter performance set the tone for the rest of the game, showcasing their ability to score in a variety of ways. With their offense firing on all cylinders, the Bulldogs will look to continue their winning streak in their next matchup.
